About Cecilia Cini
Hi! I’m an Industrial Design Engineer from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. As a designer, I’m always looking for inspiration in the fields of technology, communication, fashion, architecture and film. My experimental projects are born out of the desire to create new objects that challenge our existing perceptions taking us to discover new experiences and interactions. I often question why we cling to archetypes when technology is becoming increasingly intangible, enabling us to deconstruct objects and redesign them anew. The search for languages of form that will expand our cultural vocabulary should be leading innovation and not following it.
Biographical:
I've been involved in a variety of projects in the field of architecture, product, graphic and recently textile design at Alexander McQueen. I have worked for four years as a designer and researcher at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, collaborating in several projects that included products for the medical industry, energy efficient building components, and sustainable urban furniture. I also worked for a leading design consultancy in Argentina, and Unilever in the UK, developing user experience design and brand identity.
During my postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art, I was introduced to team-based industrial design and research, working together with engineers, business specialists and scientists, focusing on experimental design and strategy.
My approach to design is multidisciplinary, and I’m keen on combining my creative and technical knowledge in original ways of creating new products, services and interactions.
