Brian Garret designs the Frame Rate Fest Awards

Freedom Of Creations’ designer Brian Garret has created a series of 3D printed awards for the Frame Rate Fest Contest. In collaboration with communication agency These Days, a series of 4 personalized awards were made to celebrate the following winners:

- Chopper by Giel Berkers
- Rainbow Ride by Remco van den Brink
- Triangularity by Michel Ypma
- Amazing Maze by Mike & Paul

The Frame Rate Fest was organised to create attention for newly launched Internet Explorer 9 browser by Microsoft, each participant had to create their own frame, filled with interactive – slightly geeky – web stuff.

The inspiration for the awards, as Brian Garret explains, came from the internet and the way it’s connected.

The heart of the award looks like a 3 dimensional visualization of the World Wide Web, with lots of connections going in all different directions.

Freedom Of Creation designs Upload Cinema awards

Freedom Of Creation and Upload Cinema/SSBA join forces again to create more awards. Not for themselves, but for others to win this time. Upload Cinema Webvideo Award ceremony is held at the Amsterdam Stadsschouwburg 24.1.2011. You don’t want to miss the mass karaoke action and great videos, which never made it to the big screen, but became great success stories on YouTube. FOC sponsors Dutch Fashion Awards

FOC continues its design collaboration with Ted Noten. Next in line were the Dutch Fashion Awards where Ted Noten is selected to design the awards for the winners. Iris van Herpen was the grand winner of this year’s Dutch Fashion Awards. Not only did she win the Mercedes-Benz Dutch fashion Award, but she was also awarded with the Dutch Fashion Accessory Award and the Dutch Fashion Incubator Award.

The jury chose Iris van Herpen to be the ambassador for the kind of contemporary creative force Dutch Fashion has to offer to the international fashion field. With Bas Kosters as the winner of the International Fashion Incubator Award 2010, a prize stimulating authentic creativity in fashion, the jury clearly made a strong statement this fourth edition of the Dutch fashion Awards. Or like jury member Donald Potard stated: “12 points for Dutch Fashion!

These sweet as candy like 3D printed awards, designed by Ted Noten, were created for 6 different categories:

FOC in collaboration with AWW keeps on winning awards

The projects in collaboration between FOC and Amsterdam Worldwide keep on winning awards. Back in 2008 Freedom Of Creation and Amsterdam Worldwide worked on the Onitsuka Tiger Campaign, while a few months ago these creative companies joined forces to work a highly successful viral project for the new Asics Left & Right campaign. The latest awards include:

The Electric Tigerland campaign, created in collaboration between FOC and Amsterdam Worldwide, is nominated for the Titanium Lion during the annual International Advertising Festival in Cannes.

Janne Kyttanen is young designer of the year 2007

Shoe designer Julia Lundsten (b. 1975) and designer Janne Kyttanen (b. 1974) have been awarded the Design Forum Finland’s Young Designer of the Year 2007 prize.

The awarded designers have both received their design training abroad Julia Lundsten in London and Janne Kyttanen in Barcelona and Amsterdam. Lundsten established her shoe-design company FINSK in London, and Kyttanen the Freedom of Creation company in Amsterdam. Based on the designers’ strong personal conception of design and intelligent insight into design and methods of manufacturing, these companies display international promise in both content and business skills.

The award jury noted that Julia Lundsten and Janne Kyttanen represent the best of Finland’s internationally oriented young designers. Through their bold decisions and uncompromising work they are deepening the diversity of design and expanding its international character. At the same time, they express in their works the traditions of Finnish design clarity and pure lines without ignoring a playful light touch.

The members of the jury were CEO Mikko Kalhama, Design Forum Finland, and curator Jukka Savolainen, Design Museum Helsinki.

Previous recipients of the prize are designers Harri Koskinen and Ilkka Suppanen (2000), interior architect Karola Sahi and architect Eeva Lithovius (2001), designer and cabinetmaker Tuuli Autio and designer and silversmith Pyry Tamminen (2002), graphic designers Antti Hinkula and Teemu Suviala (2005) and industrial designer Jukka Korpihete and furniture designer Mikko Paakkanen (2006).
