Janne Kyttanen – Founder, Creative Director
(Hameenlinna, Finland, 1974)
He started his industrial design studies at the Escola De Disseny, Elisave in Barcelona 1996. He then moved to The Netherlands and graduated from The Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam 2000, where he also currently lives. read on
During his design studies Janne visioned a future which would question the way products were currently distributed, stored, designed and manufactured. The vision was about using 3D printing technologies as a source of manufacturing products and Augmented Reality as a new communication tool for sharing and distributing 3D files across the internet.
This project laid the foundation for Freedom Of Creation (FOC), a company specializing in the design with 3D printing techniques, which Janne founded in Helsinki, Finland (2000). Due to the immense global potential of this concept, Janne has put all of his passion, design and entrepreneurial efforts in FOC during the last 10 years. Janne has been presented with numerous design awards including, Best New Corner Award 100% Design 2003, Red Dot Design Award 2005, Best New Exhibitor Award 100% Design 2005 and Interior Innovation Award Cologne 2006.
Janne was also selected as the Young Designer of the Year by the Design Forum Finland 2007. Janne’s work has been extensively exhibited and published around the world and his work has been purchased for numerous permanent design collections around the world such as the MOMA, FIT, MAD, Holon and Vitra Design Museum.
Michiel Dekkers – Managing Director
(Heerhugowaard, Netherlands, 1973)
Right after his study at the University of Delft, Electrical Engineering, he started in 2000 as Technical Consultant at MCI WorldCom, one of the global leading companies in telecommunications.
The combination of technical and commercial skills enabled him to be responsible for multinational customers. read on
After more then 3 years he was offered a position as a New Business Director at the leading call center company in The Netherlands, SNT. In this 3 year period Michiel gained extensive experience in management and setting up new businesses with a variety of customers. During the first 6 years he created an extensive network of people and industries.
In March 2006 he joint Freedom Of Creation and co-founded FOC B.V. with Janne Kyttänen in 2006. At FOC, Michiel holds the position of Managing Director.
Han Oey - Manager Finance
(Delft, Netherlands 1961)
Han joined FOC as Director Finance & Business Development in 2006 and is overall responsible for finance and for initiating and setting up new business ventures.
Besides FOC, he has co-founded 2 other start-up companies: a textmining software company and a consultancy firm. read on
Before that, Han had around 20 years of working experience for various international companies in senior management positions. His latest corporate positions were amongst others: Group Director at SNT Group NV, Business Development Director and MD a.i. at KPN Telecommerce, VP Business Development, Strategy & M&A at KPN Asia.Furthermore, Han has an extensive international network and multi-cultural background, working and living for more than 10 years in the USA, Asia and Europe.He holds a MBA from the Erasmus Rotterdam School of Management, a Dentist degree from the University of Nijmegen and has attended several executive management programs at Insead, IMD and Stanford/NUS amongst others.
Ilko Bosman – Operations Director
(Arnhem, The Netherlands, 1978)
Ilko studied Information Management at the University of Nijmegen. During this period he separately started his own IT company that he ran for 2 years. In 2001 he joined as IT Auditor with ABN AMRO, one of the leading banks of the Netherlands. In his eight years at ABN AMRO, Ilko worked in various international roles in auditing, project management and outsourcing. In his latest role he managed the outsourced relations department for Asset Management. read on
In June 2009, Ilko decided to pursue his passion for entrepreneurship and joined FOC as Operations Director.Julian Sing – Manager Projects
(Sydney, Australia, 1978)
He studied Product design and development at Sydney SIT design center. Graduating in 2000, Julian has since worked in various sectors of design and model making. With over 10 years of professional model making experience Julian starting looking outside the box to make models better and more efficient. read on
Now living in The Netherlands Julian joined FOC in 2008 in the role of FOC Projects Director.
Bram de Zwart - Manager Collection/Talents

In 2009 Bram graduated with a Cum Laude distinction at Delft University of Technology. His Master specialization in Strategic Product Design has been partly carried out at the prestigious Politecnico di Milano, Italy. read on
Brian Garret – Product Designer
(Hoorn, Netherlands, 1985)
He studied for his Master degree in Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology. In 2006 he launched his own freelance design company specialized in interactive product design and 3d concept visualization. read on
Alan Nguyen – Product Designer
(Houston, Texas, USA 1986)
He studied Design at the University of Houston’s Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture, where he graduated with a Magna Cum Laude distinction receiving a Bachelor of Architecture specializing in parametric design. Simultaneously he pursued a second degree in Product Design focused on emerging technologies under the direction of Professor Eunsook Kwon before he was stolen away by Freedom Of Creation. read on
Mads Thomsen – Product Designer
(Copenhagen, Denmark, 1981)
Mads started his education studying architecture at The Krabbesholm School of Art, Architecture and Design. During his year at Krabbesholm, he also became interested in 3d graphics and design. In 2002, he started at The Aarhus School of Architecture where he received his Bachelor degree in 2005. read on
Jasse Kyttanen – Product Designer

Jasse Kyttanen was born 1972 in Hameenlinna, Finland. He started his Graphic Design studies at the Escola De Disseny, Elisave in Barcelona -96. Within 6 months he realized that University studies were not something, which was going to help him with his career. read on
Jasse’s work for film and print has presented him and his company numerous awards such as Silver Epica and Golden Grain. Jasse is working for FOC as a freelance Designer.
Melisa Lasell – Press Agent

She followed her university studies with a career in banking and finance. Since 1989 she divides her time between Italy and the USA, and in 1998 founded the PR branch of Business Technologies, known as bt-media. read on
